A host of LIV golfers have opted to follow in Bryson DeChambeau’s footsteps and tee it up in a new tour event being hosted in India next week.
International Series India, the country’s first event sanctioned by the Asian Tour, will take place at DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon.
DeChambeau, 31, said he was relishing the chance to play in India before the $2 million event was finalised, and it appears his LIV counterparts feel the same.
A total of 15 players from the Saudi-backed league will feature in the event, while a handful of former LIV men will compete, too.

Niemann, who finished second in last season’s individual standings, is the next best in the field, and he told the Hindustan Times that a fellow LIV player convinced him to enter.
“I am very excited to come to India,” the Chilean said. “It’s a place I had heard a lot about in terms of culture and civilisation and it’ll be nice to explore some of it along with some golf.
“I have read some comments about the course. It’s got some really tough and tricky holes which I feel is a good thing because it will test every player.
“I would like to thank Anirban Lahiri, who convinced me to come to India for golf.”
Of course, DeChambeau’s teammate Lahiri will line up in his home country alongside Crushers GC teammate Paul Casey.

Niemann’s Torque GC teammates Carlos Ortiz, Mito Pereira and Sebastian Munoz have also committed to the event, as well as new LIV recruits Fredrik Kjettrup and Luis Masaveu.
Harold Varner III, Cameron Tringale, Peter Uihlein, Andy Ogletree, Caleb Surratt and Abraham Ancer will complete the charge.
Meanwhile, several former LIV players, including Eugenio Chacarra and Kalle Samooja are set to make their latest competitive appearance, although Chase Koepka is the surprise name in the field.
The younger brother of five-time major champion Brooks confirmed that he would return to action this week – at an Asian Tour event in the Philippines – for the first time in 15 months.
