Don’t expect to see much of Ludvig Aberg between now and Christmas.
The Golf Channel is reporting that the Swede is set to undergo surgery this week to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.
Ryder Cup winner Aberg has been bothered by a knee issue for several months, causing him to withdraw from the Wells Fargo Championship in May and play the PGA Championship the following week wearing a protective brace.
According to Golf Channel reporter Todd Lewis, the 24-year-old expects to be able to hit balls again three to four weeks after the procedure and will then, most likely, play a limited schedule for the remainder of 2024.

As a result, he will miss his Omega European Masters title defence this week, with his defence of the RSM Classic in November in some doubt.
Aberg finished 16th at the Tour Championship at East Lake where the 2024 PGA Tour season drew to a close.
He played 19 times on the US-based circuit this year, finishing runner-up three times – including on his major championship debut at The Masters in April – and made 17 cuts, banking $9.7m in the process.

The world No.5 is not the only big name to go under the knife. Three-time major champion Jordan Spieth announced over the weekend that he had successful wrist surgery last week, a procedure that is likely to keep him out until 2025.
“The operation went smoothly and I’m grateful for the exceptional medical team and support of Annie and my family,” wrote Spieth on social media.
“[I’m] focused on rest and rehab, and I look forward to returning to golf healthy and prepared for 2025.”
