New docuseries shines light on reality of life on tour

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for Josh Berry.

Last Sunday, the Yorkshireman secured his first professional victory, emerging triumphant from a four-man playoff at the Kolkata Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour (formerly the Challenge Tour).

On Friday, the final episode of a four-part documentary chronicling his incredible journey goes live on YouTube.

Produced by leading apparel brand TravisMathew, “Making The Cut” is a four-part documentary that tells the story of Berry’s dramatic 2024 – his rookie season on the DP World Tour.

From a promising start to missing cuts by one shot, the unrelenting travel schedule, and the emotional toll of fighting to prove he belongs, this is a warts-and-all account of life playing golf for a living.

“You dream of playing on tour your whole life, but nothing really prepares you for the reality of it” explained Berry. “One week, you’re playing against the best in the world, and the next, you’re wondering if you’ll even have a place to play next season. This series shows what life on Tour is really like.”

By the end of the 2024 season, Berry had lost the very thing he had fought so hard to earn – his DP World Tour status.

Returning to the Final Stage of Q-School, he faced six gruelling rounds with everything on the line. Then, in a career-defining moment, he shot a remarkable eight-under-par in the final round to recover his card for 2025.
