It’s a good time to be Jalen Hurts.
The play-caller for the Super Bowl-chasing Philadelphia Eagles currently has the sixth best quarterback rating in the NFL and leads his team into this weekend’s match-up with the Jacksonville Jaguars on the back of a three-match winning streak.
That’s to say nothing of his incredible salary.
For a brief time last year, Hurts was the highest-paid QB in the league, signing a five-year extension with the Eagles worth a reported $255m – with $180m guaranteed – after he led them to Super Bowl LVII.
Of course, such a deal comes with certain stipulations. And for 26-year-old Hurts, one of those is a ban on playing golf.

The condition came to light after it was reported Hurts played golf earlier this week with former US president Barack Obama, teammate Saquon Barkley, and Eagles’ owner Jeff Lurie.
Speaking to the media ahead of the clash with the 2-6 Jaguars at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, Hurts set the record straight.
He revealed that, whilst he was there to watch the round take place, he didn’t actually peg it up.

“President Obama is an all-time leader, a great, great presence,” said Hurts. “The word is ‘down to Earth’, you know? I can only imagine that lifestyle and the different things that come with it but, nonetheless, to see him out there enjoying himself and talking a little trash, that was cool.
“I told him he didn’t want these problems just yet. I can’t golf right now. By contract, I can’t golf. His day will come.”
It begs the question: what would you give up for in return for $255million?
