“When I hear rock stars are playing golf I think that’s the end of everything,” Noel Gallagher crowed last year.

The Oasis icon admitted he did watch the ‘last 10 minutes of the Ryder Cup’, but has no interest whatsoever in hacking it around the course – not even alongside his close friend and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Which is perhaps why his psychedelic golf buggy – one of the most unusual golf-related collectors’ items we have ever seen – will be sold this week. His custom made buggy is being auctioned off with dozens of other pieces of Oasis memorabilia by Propstore this week in London.

Propstore say the buggy, a gift to Gallagher from his then wife Meg Matthew in the 1990s, was commissioned in the style of John Lennon’s 1960s Rolls Royce Phantom V.

The buggy is manufactured by CLub Car and includes OASIS VIP stickers on the windshield and a ‘JEDI 1’ license plate. It is said that Gallagher used to move around his old home in Buckinghamshire.

We highly doubt it’s ever seen the light of day on a golf course, however.

That could be about to change, though, as you can now get your hands on this one-off piece.

Propstore estimates Gallager’s buggy will fetch between £5,000 and £10,000 at auction.

“If you want a talking point for your mates down the golf club, this is a unique piece,” said Propstore’s music specialist Mark Hochman.

“Noel had this massive country estate in Chalfont St Giles and Meg bought him this golf buggy to run round it. The livery is taken from John Lennon’s Phantom V Rolls Royce, which they later used on stage.”

The buggy is not all that’s on offer too – if it’s not just your golf collection you fancy upgrading.

“From handwritten lyrics to Noel’s Gibson Silver Sparkle guitar – the first he had commissioned to his exact specs – this is a great auction. It’s the biggest Oasis auction that’s ever happened,” Hochman added.

“We’ve got over 60 items of unique memorabilia, from £100 to £200,000, which goes to show how collectable and how big the band has become. They’re up there with The Beatles in terms of memorabilia.”

The auction ends on November 15 at an in-person Propstore auction in Picadilly, London, with online bidding already open.

So, then. Is it worth the aggravation?
