It looks like Patrick Cantlay will have his hands full when he hangs up his clubs.
Now, at 32, the American could be swinging for a while yet, but that hasn’t stopped him from teeing up a new venture.
Cantlay, a winner of eight PGA Tour events, has joined LRE Management – a New York-based real estate investment company – as an advisory board member.
Spotted by Josh Carpenter and reported by The Real Deal, Cantlay will become a general partner on its first opportunity fund, joining a team that will meet with top investors.
Meanwhile, the Ryder Cup star told TRD that his passion for real estate was born when spending time with his grandfather.
“I can remember being little, and we’d go to the golf course,” said Cantlay, who has already put together a portfolio of properties.

“But then we had to stop off on a particular street 20 minutes away to go fix up a property.
“One time we were at a tournament, and he just wanted to drive through the neighborhood, see what the neighborhood was about.
“I was ready to go back to the hotel room and get some dinner, [not] go on a scouting trip for 90 minutes.”
On the partnership, Cantlay hopes it will give him the ‘opportunity to develop some experience’ but is a ‘number of years away’ from being his second career after golf.
It’s understood that LRE founder Eric Londa sees Cantlay as an ideal figure to help raise capital and meet with investors, according to TRD.

On the course, Cantlay is set to contest his third Presidents Cup later this month, when the US face an international team at Royal Montreal.
He is yet to make his major championship breakthrough, although a T3 effort at Pinehurst in June was Cantlay’s best result since the 2019 PGA Championship.
Cantlay also remains winless on Tour since 2022.
