Luke Kwon has been crowned champion of the inaugural Creator Classic.

The competition, which took place at East Lake ahead of the PGA Tour’s season-ending Tour Championship, saw 16 YouTube and social media personalities such as the Bryan Bros, Paige Spiranac, Peter Finch, and members of Good Good Golf take part.

The format was simple: eight holes of stroke play played over the 10th to 17th, with the top four advancing to a playoff on the Atlanta course’s famous 18th.

Creator Classic Playoff

Kwon, Wesley Bryan, Sean Walsh and Roger Steele advanced to the 18th tee for the playoff.

Kwon, Bryan and Walsh all opted to play down the adjoining 10th fairway – this won’t be allowed during the Tour Championship, it should be noted – while Steele headed down a more traditional route.

It was Kwon, though, who took full advantage of the par-5, hitting his wedge shot to leave around 15 feet for birdie. And while the others could only salvage par, Kwon made no mistake…

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan was pleased with the success of the event, which peaked at 110,000 viewers on YouTube as well as being streamed on ESPN+ and Peackcock.

“The response from fans and from the content creators themselves has been overwhelming,” he said.
