The PGA Tour is set to dip back into the influencer market during the week of the Tour Championship.
A day before the play-off finale gets underway, 16 golf influencers – including YouTube stars – will contest the inaugural ‘Creator Classic’.
It’s a nine-hole stroke play competition held on East Lake’s restored second nine and will be livestreamed on the tour’s YouTube channel, according to a report from Sports Business Journal.
Peacock, ESPN+ and other platforms will also show the event featuring George and Wesley Bryan, Tyler Toney from Dude Perfect and several others.

“With the YouTube golf creators, that’s a burgeoning area for our sport and we want to make sure we’re bringing their audience to us and us to them,” said Laura Neal, the tour’s EVP/Brand Communications.
“The important part, at the end of the day, is that we listen to what our fans say.
“How did these new offerings resonate? What did they like and what can we improve? That’s crucial to our planning for next year.”
The Creator Classic is being co-led by the new Pro Shop Holdings and anyone with a ticket to Wednesday’s practice round at the Tour Championship will be able to attend.
It’s part of multiple changes for the FedEx Cup play-offs, which begin with the FedEx St Jude Championship on August 15.

For the opener in Memphis, the two Bryan brothers and popular YouTuber Grant Horvat will link up for a special stream from 12-2pm [ET] on Thursday and Friday of the tournament.
The Bryan’s will be based out of PGA Tour Live’s St. Augustine studios, whilst Horvat – who has over 750,000 subscribers – will join for on-the-ground reporting.
Meanwhile, in the States, NBC will broadcast the play-offs instead of CBS, with moving drone tracer technology set to make a return.
The PGA Tour Vision app will also continue in the play-offs and make shot trails, a full leaderboard, highlights and live course statistics available for users.
