2016 11 Hoffman

One PGA Tour pro got seriously angry during the first round of the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.

Charley Hoffman, who shot level par on day one at Playa del Carmen to sit T70 in the leaderboard and eight strokes behind leader Chris Kirk, lashed out at his bag – before realising his and his caddie’s phones were right at the point of impact.

Fortunately, he was able to see the funny side, although it’s not sure whether the same could be said for his caddie.

“Finally broke something this year!” Charley Hoffman wrote on Instagram. “And it wasn’t par! Oops.”
