Photos: First look inside new TGL arena

One year after TGL’s bubble burst – literally – fans have been offered a glimpse of the new arena.

The purpose-built SoFi Centre in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, will come alive on January 7, as the indoor league debuts.

Spectators will walk into a unique ‘greenside’ experience, with 1,500 seats surrounding a 97-yards long and 50-yards wide field.

New York Golf Club will face The Bay Golf Club in week one, but Atlanta Drive could have an early advantage.

That’s because Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay were filmed checking out the venue in a promotional video for the league, posted on X.

“Fairway hitting machine,” Thomas said after smashing a drive off the 64’x53′ screen, that is over 24 times larger than a standard simulator.

“Any questions,” he asked. Well, fans had a few – and the obvious was directed right at PGA Tour star Cantlay.

One user wrote: “My question is how many days does it take Cantlay to play a round of golf on the simulator?”

Beyond that, it certainly split opinion with some fans excited and others, not so much.

“This on at night during prime time during the week will be fire,” a user said, while another replied: “Sounds like it would have little spectator value.”

Not much more was on offer than the sight of flashing nameboards in the arena and the 3,800 square-foot putting surface, that includes three 15 x 27-foot virtual greens.

Tickets are still available, including for the opening match. They cost $192 to see Open champion Xander Schauffele and co.

Fans can also buy tickets to Tiger Woods’ first match one week later at the same price.

Meanwhile, Woods will face co-founder Rory McIlroy in game week four and tickets are sold out.
