There was a crazy moment early in the first fourballs match on Saturday afternoon when Brooks Koepka’s drive landed on the rucksack… of Thomas Pieters’ dad!
With tees moved up on the par-4 fifth, meaning the hole measured not much more than 300 yards, all players – including Pieters, Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson– went for the green, with Koepka’s an interesting outcome.
And an eagle-eyed Nicolas Colsaerts confirmed on Twitter that it was in fact Pieters’ dad whose rucksack the ball landed on.
