New deal: Poulter, recent winner of the JBWere Australian Masters, has signed with Cobra Puma Golf

Englishman pens new endorsement deal to promote brand’s shoes and belts

Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter has signed with Cobra Puma Golf to wear brand new styles of footwear and belts. Poulter, who has 15 career wins and most recently won the 2011 JBWere Australian Masters, has been a Cobra Golf ambassador for over five years and will now represent the Cobra Puma Golf brand on course.

“We are excited to have a world-class golfer with such an engaging personality and sense of style join the ranks of Puma Golf,” said Bob Philion, president of Cobra Puma Golf. “Ian’s worldwide presence on multiple Tours will help drive home Cobra Puma Golf’s core message to enjoy golf through innovative, performance products with a stylish edge that sets them apart.”

Poulter, who is currently ranked 16th on the official world golf rankings, will wear a new Puma golf shoe, the Neo Classic Pro-Type. While this style is not yet available to consumers, Ian will be wearing it on tour and come mid-summer, a limited release of the style will be available for the public to purchase.

Taking design cues from the runways, the upper is full grain leather with brogue details in the formstripe. The outsole is Puma Golf’s S2C Pro (Swing Speed Chassis Pro). This outsole was designed with the professional golfer in mind, providing the perfect blend of control, leverage and balance.

The S2Quill technology in the outsole combines directionally molded S2Quill spikes and replaceable S2Quill spikes for ultimate grip on the course.

“I am thrilled to be working with Cobra Puma Golf, who truly understands the importance of fusing style with performance,” said Poulter. “I really like the style and performance of the Neo Classic Pro-Type and we’re working on developing future models as well. I’m getting the style I love in shoes that perform and stay comfortable throughout my round.”
