Royal Montreal will host the final major team tournament of 2024 – the Presidents Cup.
Played biennially since 1994, the record books make for tough reading for the international team.
Only twice in 14 editions has the US side failed to win, when the internationals won in 1998 and tied the match in 2003.
And Jim Furyk, this year’s American captain, would love nothing more than to secure a 13th victory for his country.
He’ll face Mike Weir – who, if nothing else, has home advantage. The Canadian leads the home outfit as the contest returns to Montreal for the first time since 2007.
The 2003 Masters champion is the first Cannuck to captain the international team and he has a strong hand.
Hideki Matsuyama heads the charge, with experience in the likes of Adam Scott, Jason Day and Sungjae Im.
Of course, they will have to fend off the red-hot Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.

Presidents Cup betting tips
The USA are strong favourites, according to bookmakers…
USA 2/5
Internationals 5/2
Draw 14/1
The bunkered Bet
USA 1-3 points
It’s hard to oppose Team USA for a whole host of reasons. Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele have enjoyed the seasons of their careers, while the depth of talent is impossible to ignore. But Mike Weir will have his side tough to beat on home soil, with three Canadians scrapping for points. Meanwhile, Scheffler hasn’t won any of his last nine matches in the Presidents Cup or Ryder Cup, so this shouldn’t be a whitewash.
