TEAM GB | THE OLYMPIC GAMES | JUSTIN ROSE
The official Team GB kit launch for the 2016 Olympic Games was yesterday – and a host of sports were featured, but golf wasn’t one of them.
However, as bunkered.co.uk discovered, there was a pretty simple reason for that.
The launch was conducted by kit sponsor adidas – not Team GB – and solely featured their athletes. And Justin Rose, currently situated in one of the two (at least) places for Rio alongside Danny Willett, couldn’t make it due to the fact he is defending his Zurich Classic of New Orleans title this week.

He’s been involved in the process throughout though, providing regular feedback on the kits, which have been designed by Stella McCartney.
“In terms of our launch event yesterday – this was to unveil the range and iconography that you’ll see throughout the athletes’ kit,” said a spokesperson for adidas. “Whilst we had a lot of sports represented, there we a few where, due to athlete availability, we were unable to showcase them.
“However, we’ll be showing the full range over the next few weeks and you’ll start to see this appearing in retail in fan wear versions soon.”
The Olympic Games takes place from August 5-21, with the golf tournament from August 11-14.
