It appears Jay Monahan’s time in charge of the PGA Tour could be coming to an end.
According to GOLF, Monahan is expected leave his post as PGA Tour commissioner after a transition period for the American circuit.
Monahan, who has led Sawgrass HQ through one of the most turbulent times in its history amidst the emergence of the rival LIV Golf League, has been overseeing a search for a new chief executive of late.

That search began back in December and it;s understood that a deal is now close to being finalised for the NFL executive vice president Brian Rolapp to assume control at Ponte Vedra.
Rolapp, the NFL’s chief media and business officer, had been expected to work alongside commissioner Monahan during what is a pivotal time in the elite male golf landscape.
But it is now understood that Monahan could be “sunset” by the tour after a transition period that will allow Rolapp to get accustomed to the CEO role.
The GOLF report states that the full transition from Monahan to Rolapp will be complete no later than the end of next year.
The Rolapp appointment could be announced as soon as next week following a board meeting at the $20million Travelers Championship, the next Signature Event stop in Connecticut this week.

bunkered.co.uk has contacted the PGA Tour for comment.
Monahan, meanwhile, has been the PGA Tour’s commissioner for nine years.
For over two of those, he has been negotiating a deal to join forces with the Saudi Public Investment Fund after the ‘Framework Agreement’ that shocked the sport on June 6, 2023.
As it stands, however, a deal to unify the game’s warring factions appears no closer.
“We’re bringing new perspectives onto our team to help us realise the incredible opportunities ahead for our sport, including launching a search for a CEO of the PGA Tour,” Monahan said six months ago.
“We can learn so much from across the world of sport and entertainment, and I’m excited to meet candidates for this important new role.”
