LIV Golf is set to announce its 2025 schedule within the coming days.

And according to Josh Carpenter, of Sports Business Journal, the Saudi-backed league will make some huge changes.

It’s reported that up to four of the events staged in the United States could be axed from the rota that was contested in 2024.

LIV Nashville, Houston, Las Vegas and Greenbrier are all expected to face the chop, despite drawing strong crowds.

The event at Las Vegas Country Club was a new addition to the schedule, while LIV Greenbrier, in West Virginia, took place the last two seasons.

Greg Norman’s circuit is expected to tee off in a new US state instead, with plans pointing towards a tournament at a course near Indianapolis.

Meanwhile, LIV will return to Chicago and Dallas, although the event at Maridoe GC is set to run in June.

It served as the site for LIV’s team championship in September, though, which would suggest a new venue will host the season finale.

The US shifts come after Adrian Meronk told Golf Digest this week of his support for LIV moving away from America and the PGA Tour.

“It wouldn’t be the worst thing if the PGA Tour went its own way and everyone else got together and created a worldwide tour everywhere except the United States,” he said.

“I like that idea. It would be awesome. The Asian Tour (funded by the PIF) is flourishing right now, so maybe that will happen.”

Of course, that would see LIV Golf strike a deal with the DP World Tour.

The Wentworth-based circuit announced its 2025 schedule in full yesterday, with a few notable changes – including the return of two events.

Currently, LIV has only confirmed four events for next year, returning to Riyadh for the opening event.

Adelaide, Hong Kong and Singapore are also confirmed, while international stops in Spain at Valderrama and in the UK are expected.
