Report: LIV Golf set to sign major US TV deal

LIV Golf is close to agreeing terms on a deal with a major US television network.

The Telegraph is reporting that the Saudi-financed league is in the “final stages” of striking a deal with Fox, one of the United States ‘Big Four’ networks.

The deal will be a massive boost for LIV as it prepares for its third full season, which gets under way in Riyadh next month.

LIV was restricted to broadcasting in the US on its own website and YouTube in its ‘beta’ season in 2022. More recently, in 2023 and 2024, its events were shown on the little-known CW Network.

However, securing a deal with the Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox ahead of its 2025 campaign would be a major boost to the league.

It might also expedite negotiations between its financier – the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia – and the PGA Tour. The two parties have been in discussions to merge commercial operations since June 2023.

The Florida-based PGA Tour endured a succession of disappointing TV ratings during the 2024 season. The last thing it needs is to be competing for viewers with its biggest rival.

LIV Golf has already announced ten events of the 2025 season, with the remaining dates expected to be revealed imminently.

As part of a refreshed new calendar, LIV will make its first-ever visit to Korea, whilst also returning to popular venues like Valderrama and JCB Golf & Country Club.
