Just two months after replacing his longtime caddie Joe Greiner, Max Homa is reportedly now searching for his third looper of the year.
Homa raised eyebrows as he carried his own bag at US Open qualifying for 36 holes on Monday – dubbed Golf’s Longest Day.
The six-time PGA Tour agonisingly missed out on a place at Oakmont in a stacked field, but later offered a conspicuous response when asked about a rumoured split from his new caddie Bill Harke.

“I’d much rather talk about the golf than all the questions about my caddie,” he replied. “Just hoofed it 36.”
However, Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press has now reported that Harke has “lost his job.”
Homa only hired Harke prior to the Masters, but Ferguson notes that an anonymous party has confirmed the duo have already parted ways.
It was a galling finish for Homa at qualifying, just a day after he closed with a 77 with Harke on the bag at the Memorial Tournament.
A three-putt par on his final hole forced him into a five-way playoff at Kinsale Golf Club, which was won with a birdie by Cameron Young.
On the next hole, Homa then missed out on a playoff for an alternate spot for Oakmont.

When asked about his attitude afterwards, the Californian offered a few clues over why he preferred to go it alone at Kinsale.
“Seems to be better than when someone’s standing next to me, for some reason, so I might need to just walk by myself more,” he said.
“Maybe I just looked at it as a nice peaceful day by myself. Probably got to battle some demons and just kind of have nobody to lean on.
“So sometimes maybe that helps a little bit. There’s no one to … it’s just everything’s me. So the battle of that maybe helped a little bit.”
