After a long stint Stateside, Robert MacIntyre will finally return home for his links summer brimming with confidence.
The Oban man followed up his superb run at the US Open by finishing in a tie for 17th in the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands on Sunday.
That was enough for a $250,000 share of the $20million purse at the signature PGA Tour event, with MacIntyre firing a final round 66 to leap 20 places up the leaderboard.
A productive end, then, to a demanding run that has seen him compete in seven consecutive weeks on American soil.
Now MacIntyre will head home for a short break before defending his Genesis Scottish Open title at the Renaissance Club in East Lothian.

Straight after playing in front of his home fans, MacIntyre will head to Royal Portrush with the new pressure of being one of the favourites to win the Open.
Indeed, after coming up just short with a sensational finish at Oakmont, MacIntyre is now being viewed by many as a major champion in waiting and a links test like Portrush sets up well for the Scot.
David Howell was certainly backing MacIntyre’s Open credentials on Sunday evening.
“Yes [Scottie] Scheffler is going to be the favourite for that championship, of course,” the European Tour veteran said on the Sky Sports Golf coverage. “But he is made for links golf, Bob MacIntyre.

“He has proved to himself last week that he can win a major because, when he had the chance, he did everything right. So he’ll have his own expectations to deal with, but surely we’ll have a good performance from him.”
MacIntyre certainly concurs with Howell.
He believes majors are the next step in his burgeoning career.
“There’s no reason why I can’t win a major championship in my career and that’s my goal now,” he told The Scotsman after JJ Spaun denied him at the US Open.
“I said I wanted to win the Scottish Open and I got that. I thought I had this one, to be honest with you, but, yeah, I just want to win majors now.”
