We’ve all got a list of courses we’d love to go and play in the Home of Golf.

Turns out Robert MacIntyre does, too.

The proud Scot, who learned the game at Glencruitten Golf Club on the outskirts of Oban, has made the long trip from Ponte Vedra Beach to Singapore for this week’s Singapore Classic on the DP World Tour.

MacIntyre banked £563,000 for finishing ninth at last week’s PLAYERS Championship and is among the favourites to make Luke Donald’s European Ryder Cup team.

But when MacIntyre is not chasing his dreams on flights around the world, he’s most comfortable in Scotland and there’s still a few venues he’d like to tick off in his homeland.

During an impromptu Q&A on his flight from Stateside to Singapore, MacIntyre was asked on X for his favourite Scottish course that “most travellers never play.”

The world No.14 opted for Machrihanish on the stunning Kintyre peninsula.

Machrihanish is perhaps best known for its acclaimed first hole that requires you to carry the corner of the Atlantic Ocean from the tee. Jack Nicklaus once called it the “best opening hole” in golf.

Meanwhile, MacIntyre’s all-time Scottish favourite is Loch Lomond, the most exclusive club in the country.

But what about the courses MacIntyre hasn’t played?

Royal Dornoch, the majestic links course in Sutherland, is renowned all over the world but has yet to be graced by the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open champion.

Brora, the Highland course you famously share with the sheep and the cows, was next on MacIntyre’s list. Ardfin, the clifftop course on the Isle of Jura comes in at third.

As for his favourite course in the world, MacIntyre unsurprisingly went for Augusta National.

MacIntyre will return to Augusta for the first time since 2022 at next month’s Masters.
