Battle for a Cause

Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson will go head-to-head one more time before the year is out – all in aid of charity.

Set to take place at Pradera Verde Golf and County Club in the Philippines on November 29, the exhibition match has been named ‘Battle for a Cause’ with proceeds mainly going towards relief efforts following typhoons in the country.

The event was originally supposed to involve an 18-hole match between Rory McIlroy and Jason Day with the world No.1’s mother hailing from the Philippines and several go his family members killed in the 2013 typhoon.

The Australian had to pull out of his commitment recently due to ongoing back issues.

The pair were also on opposing sides as the USA triumphed over Europe in the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine.
