There is just one week to go until Zach Johnson names his six Team USA wildcards and much of the furore now centres around Brooks Koepka.
Koepka was edged out of his automatic berth by Xander Schauffele in the final moments of Ryder Cup qualifying and will now be relying on a call from Johnson to make the team.

The five-time major champion has looked nailed on for the US side ever since winning the PGA Championship back in May, but there is now a possibility that he is snubbed by Johnson after finishing seventh in the US standings.
Johnson has not been drawn into LIV golfers appearing on his team and has admitted to not watching the events on the Saudi-based series.
It would be an astonishing call if Johnson does leave out Koepka, but the US skipper is hardly short of top-quality options as he finalises his team for the showdown at Marco Simone.
Koepka is joint-second in the US captain’s picks betting market (1/7) alongside the resurgent Rickie Fowler, behind only Collin Morikawa, who seems all but guaranteed a place.
Jordan Spieth requires a pick and is not listed in these odds, but like Morikawa, the Texan should be packing his bags for Rome.

Cameron Young is widely fancied to become the latest American Ryder Cup debutant, while Sam Burns could also tee it up in the showdown for the very first time.
Justin Thomas, who has been in such a malaise, is still being backed by the bookies to be given a show of faith by Johnson and make the team.
There is no debate that Thomas cannot be picked based on form, but the two-time major winner has been the heartbeat of the American side in recent years and can still form an intimidating partnership with Spieth.
Lucas Glover, who incredibly won back-to-back events this month, is now seen as an unlikely pick with the bookies.
Meanwhile, after Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau are the next most likely LIV players to make the team according to bookmakers.
It appears fanciful though at this stage that a LIV Ryder Cup invitation would extend beyond Koepka’s.
Johnson will make his final decision after the conclusion of the Tour Championship on August 29.
