It tells you everything you need to know about Scottie Scheffler that, up until now, he’s been driving around in the same car he owned in 2012.

The world No.1 golfer, who has banked over $60million golfer this year alone and has access to almost any vehicle in the world, has instead racked up 200,000 miles on his GMC Yukon.

It’s the same car the Texan’s father Scott gifted him after college, but now Scheffler is finally willing to wave goodbye after a long-awaited upgrade.

And for a very good reason, too.

According to Golfweek’s Adam Schupak, Scheffler has put his wheels for auction to support the Triumph Over Kid Cancer (TOKC) non-profit charity. It is a cause close to Scheffler’s heart as the co-founder of the charity, James Ragan, is a childhood friend who has battled osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

Schupark’s report states that the auction for Scheffler’s old motor started at $10,000 and the price quickly jumped to $15,000. If you’d like to get your hands on the car, though, you’ll now have to outbid one of the game’s legendary voices.

Jim Nantz, who attended the live auction alongside Scheffler, upped the bidding to $50,000 to pledge huge support for the charity.

Nantz, the iconic golf broadcaster, remembered meeting Scheffler’s friend James at an inspiring ‘Lunch with a Legend’ event alongside Jack Nicklaus.

“He was a hero to so many of us,” Nantz said at the event. “This kid was special. He could’ve been the President of the United States. He was super-smart, incredibly gifted and composed, kind, thoughtful and he had a great life to be lived that was taken away from him and he truly never felt sorry for himself.”
