Wealth of knowledge: Tiger sits down with His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan

Woods congratulated for his prowess on the course and the dancefloor

After a bogey-free debut in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, Tiger Woods was congratulated by Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Sultan not just for his prowess on the golf course, but also for his prowess on the dance floor.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan was given an impromptu putting lesson by Woods when he stopped by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) tent.

The 14-time major winner joined His Highness and ADTA director general His Excellency Mubarak Al Muhairi having just carded a flawless two-under-par 70 in his opening round.

After listening to Woods’ short-stick advice, Sheikh Sultan praised the former world number one for his display both on the National Course and for his dancing ability in a pre-championship publicity stunt in which Tiger joined in with a traditional Emirati celebration dance.

Woods, who is seeking a first tour win in over two years, is playing in the Abu Dhabi Championship for the first time alongside current world No.1 Luke Donald and first-round leader Rory McIlroy.
