Face familiar to Sky Sports viewers joins LIV Golf broadcast team

Whilst not on the same scale as its reported $450m capture of Jon Rahm, LIV Golf has made a number of non-player moves during its close season.

The Saudi-funded golf league, which raises the curtain on its third season in Mexico this week, has been making some changes to its broadcast team.

As first reported by Sports Business Journal, Rachel Drummond – who had started to become a regular in the Sky Sports Golf studio over the past few months – has been recruited to report for LIV’s new pre- and post-round show ‘Club 54’, as well as on the driving range before and after rounds.

The former Ladies European Tour pro takes over from Troy Mullins, who had been part of the LIV broadcast line-up since the league launched in 2022.

Also joining the team is Christian Crosby. Formerly the in-game entertainment lead for NBA outfit the Philadelphia 76ers, Crosby will host ‘Club 54’, which will air on The CW Network in the US as well as on LIV Golf+ and the official LIV Golf YouTube channel.

Lead commentator Arlo White ha agreed a contract extension with LIV through to the end of the 2025 season, along with analysts Jerry Foltz and David Feherty, and on-course reporters Dom Boulet and Su-Ann Heng.

Elsewhere, the Sports Business Journal is reporting that audience figures for LIV Golf broadcasts could be more readily available this year.

It is understood that its US television partner, The CW, will be rated by both iSpot and Nielsen this year.

LIV’s chief media officer Will Staeger is quoted within the SBJ report as being “optimistic that there will be increased viewership in the 2024 season.”

The first of LIV Golf’s 14 scheduled events for 2024 gets under way at the El Camaleon resort in Mayakoba, Mexico, later this week.
