The first match of the inaugural TGL season hit TV screens last night and, of course, it caused some waves on social media.
After a year-long delay, the SoFi Centre in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, played host to the tech-infused league and the opener was a procession.
The Bay Golf Club’s Shane Lowry, Ludvig Aberg and Wyndham Clark ran out 9-2 winners over the New York Golf Club lineup of Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick.
But, according to Tiger Woods, who is behind the joint-venture with Rory McIlroy, it was worth the wait.
“It’s hard to believe that that dream became reality, and we were able to take golf into another stratosphere,” he said live on ESPN.

TGL is entertaining so far and I’ll continue watching it.
Long term, this is highly dependent on the personalities rather than the golf or technology itself.
Hopefully the sport unites soon because guys like Phil, Bryson, Brooks, and Hatton would do well in this format.

I think me and @AdamSandler should face off in a TGL event the week Happy Gilmore 2 premieres. I call dibbs on Scheffler.

I think I’m in on this TGL stuff. Holes are fast paced, guys seem to enjoy a new twist to conventional golf, side action going on. Fun late Tuesday night watch

Turned on #TGL to see what it is all about. It is chaos, and the commentators and forcing this down your throat to try and make you love it.
It's next to unwatchable

Two holes in and I’m a believer of TGL, it’s not real golf but it’s entertaining for January night. Format doesn’t suck
