Which players will compete in the 2024 Solheim Cup?

The 2024 Solheim Cup teams have been finalised.

The 19th edition of the matches, which will take place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia from September 13-15, will see the Americans get the trophy back in their hands for the first time since 2017.

Europe, having won at Gleneagles in 2019 and Inverness Club in 2021 before a 14-14 tie last time out meant they retained their title

Solheim Cup qualification

We’ll start with Team Europe.

In order for players to eligible for the 2024 Solheim Cup, they are required to:

• be current members of the Ladies European Tour in any category or membership;
• have played in eight Ranking Events during the qualifying period as a member of the LET, unless the relevant player has been selected by the appointed captain for the 2023 European team;
• be a “European national”, satisfying the criteria set out in the “Nationality Policy” issued by the International Golf Federation.

The 2024 European Solheim Cup team was made up of eight automatic qualifiers – the top two players from the LET’s Solheim Cup standings, followed by the top six LET members on the Rolex Rankings not already qualified – and four captain’s picks.

The Team USA criteria says players must be current members of the LPGA and meet one of the three following citizenship criteria:

• A US citizen by birth, regardless of birthplace;
• Those naturalised as US citizens before the age of 18;
• Those who became US citizens by adoption before age 13

The 2024 American team is made up of nine automatic qualifiers – the top seven from the LPGA’s Solheim Cup points rankings and the top two in the Rolex Rankings not already qualified  – and three picks from the team captain.
