Want to get your photo taken with one of the finest trophies in golf? Well, the Solheim Cup trophy will be on display at this week’s Scottish Golf Show!

Splitting its time between both the Visit Scotland and Gleneagles stands throughout the duration of the show, the trophy’s presence at the SECC, Glasgow, celebrates Scotland winning the bid to host the 2019 Solheim Cup at the luxury Perthshire resort, which staged the Ryder Cup so successfully in 2014.

Paul Bush, VisitScotland’s Director of Events, said: “This is the first time the Solheim Cup trophy will have been on public display in Scotland since we were successful with our bid to take it to Gleneagles last October.

“We hope it will generate a real buzz of anticipation for the event among Scotland’s golfing public and capture the imagination in the same way as the 2014 Ryder Cup, when the whole country came together to celebrate the event. I’m sure attendees at the Scottish Golf Show will enjoy seeing such a magnificent and historic trophy alongside the other great exhibitors at the event.”

The 2019 match will be the third Solheim Cup to be contested in Scotland. The previous two stagings – at Marriott Dalmahoy in 1992 and Loch Lomond in 2000 – both resulted in wins for the hosts, Europe.

This year’s Scottish Golf Show – the UK’s No.1 consumer golf show – is expected to be the biggest and best yet, boasting the largest line-up of top brands in its history as well as some great interactive challenges.

These include the Get Rich Pitch – where you could walk away with £10,000 – the Tiger Chip Challenge, the Bunker Challenge and the Long Putt Challenge, while you can play the new Ailsa Course at Trump Turnberry before anybody else in their fantastic simulator.
