The biennial match, contested by two teams of 12 female golfers representing Europe and the United States of America, has been staged since 1990 – but what is the 2024 Solheim Cup venue?
This year’s clash will be the 19th between the two sides, the USA leading the series 10-7, with one match finishing in a tie.
Europe, however, has won two of last three renewals, with the most recent match – staged in Spain last year – ending 14-14. As a result, Europe retained the trophy.
Captained by Norway’s Suzann Pettersen, the holders are looking to extend their undefeated record to an unprecedented fourth match. But, to do so, they’ll need to overcome a strong American side, captained by major champion Stacy Lewis and playing on home soil.
The 2024 Solheim Cup takes place from September 13-15.

About the next Solheim Cup venue
The 2024 Solheim Cup venue is Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia.
This year marks the Solheim Cup’s first-ever visit to Virginia. It visited West Virginia in 1994 when a 13-7 US win played out at The Greenbrier.
Robert Trent Jones Golf Club is situated in Gainesville, around 30 miles south-west of Washington DC.
Opened in 1991, the par-72 course was designed by ‘RTJ’ himself. The brains behind Spyglass Hill, Firestone, Bellerive and Congressional, Jones called his Virginia course “my masterpiece”.
It has an impressive championship pedigree, having staged four editions of the Presidents Cup – in 1994, 1996, 2000 and 2005 – as well the 2015 instalment of Tiger Woods’ Quicken Loans National on the PGA Tour.
And according to various reports, the club even counts former US president Barack Obama amongst its members.
