After an injury-plagued few seasons, the 2010 Open champion will be hoping for better fortunes in 2019 – and what better way to lay those foundations with another strong showing in his national open? Four of the 36-year-old’s eight European Tour victories have come in his native South Africa and he comes into this week off the back of finishing in a tie for fifth in the Nedbank Golf Challenge last month. At the very least, you’d have to fancy him to bag some points for your bunkered Fantasy Golf Winter League team – he has missed just three cuts in his last 53 events on the European Tour, stretching back to July 2014!
