With most of the world’s top players now winding down for the Christmas period, it’s the perfect time for them to get procedures before firing back into action in early 2016.
Although for Swede Henrik Stenson, it may be a while before he’s back after undergoing surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee. Posting on Facebook, he said: “I had a torn meniscus in my right knee for those who did not know. Most likely wear and tear from a couple of hours on the range or going down Niagara Falls in a barrel, who knows...... H.”
Still, he kept us entertained by posting these post-op pics on his Facebook page, saying ‘back home now and rehab starts tomorrow!’.

But he wasn’t the only one to have undergone surgery this week. Step forward four-time major winner and the newly engaged Rory McIlroy.
After spending time in Paris, where he proposed to girlfriend Erica Stoll, McIlroy returned to the UK to shoot an advert for his sponsor Santander alongside Olympian Jessica Ennis and Formula One driver Jenson Button, and also had time to fit in some laser eye surgery!
Accompanying the photo below, McIlroy posted on Instagram: “Human version of the dreaded K-9 cone.... Only for sleeping though! Laser eye surgery went well yesterday.”
Here's hoping the world No.3's sharper sight can lead him to more major glory in 2016!
