It took only 77 days from the opening night of TGL to crown a winner. Atlanta Drive GC were crowned the inaugural winners of the SoFi Cup.
The tech-infused indoor league debuted in January and, at season’s end, saw the top four teams in the standings advance to the play-offs.
The eventual champions, including Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover faced New York Golf Club, and won the final series 2-0.
But what a lot of people don’t know is that TGL paid out handsomely. In fact, it paid out very, very well.

As well as winning the title, after a dramatic 4-3 result in match two, Atlanta Drive left the SoFi Centre a mere $9 million richer.
It was split among the four team members, while the runners-up – Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young and Matt Fitzpatrick – banked $4.5 million.
There was also money for co-founders Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, despite the pair seeing their teams eliminated in the regular season.
Jupiter Links GC finished fifth, netting Woods $437,500, while McIlroy took home $375,000 as Boston Common Golf finished sixth.
