Golf fans were left unimpressed by the food and drink prices at last night’s opening TGL match in Florida.
The tech-infused show made its debut at the purpose-built SoFi Centre and saw The Bay GC win 9-2 against New York GC.
While its inaugural contest divided opinion among spectators, many agreed over the expensive concession prices.
As reported by Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were being served at a premium.
A 20oz bottle of water or soda cost $5, with a sports drink setting fans back $8.

Meanwhile, drinks from the bar reached almost $20. A pint of domestic beer, imported beer or a white claw were the cheapest options, all costing $12 a pop.
A pint of craft beer at the venue was $14, while a 36&Oak cocktail and house cocktail were priced at an eye-watering $18.
One fan replied to the post: “The craft beer better be 6% or more,” before another wrote: “Ouch.”
Front Office Sports’ David Rumsey asked fans which items they wanted, and one user hit back: “Beers in the parking lot.”

Rumsey posted two menus available at TGL and while food wasn’t as expensive as the refreshments, it left a little to be desired.
The ‘Sports Classic’ options included a grilled jumbo beef hot dog, a TGL soft pretzel and a serving of fresh tortilla chips with guacamole, and were priced at $8 each.
It was $14 for a wood-fire grilled cheeseburger, or an oven roasted impossible burger, albeit both were served without a side.
An $18 ‘TGL Premium Power Bowl’ was the other choice, offering a choice of protein served on a bowl of yellow rice, roasted corn, black beans, peppers, onions and mixed cheese.

Seemingly a wallet-buster for some, as pointed out by one user, who said it “looks like a $144 dollar night for me.”
Another wrote of the prices: “Not good.”
Fans will have to do it all again next week in Palm Beach Gardens, as TGL returns with Los Angeles GC facing off against Jupiter Links GC.
