A team of amateur golfers are aiming to raise £80,000 for three Paragolfers by taking on an incredible challenge.
From Monday June 16 to Saturday June 21, they’ll play 18 rounds of golf in five countries to champion people with disability across the UK.
It got underway at The Shire in London, where the golfers were joined for the 5am tee time by some of the charity’s supporters and beneficiaries.
Immediately after the Texas scramble, they headed to Bristol before playing through Wales on Tuesday.
It was then straight into Ireland for another three rounds on Wednesday before a return trip to Scotland, where the epic marathon will finish in St Andrews on Saturday.
Along the way The Golf Trust team are playing with people with disability including various Paragolfer users, The Back Up Trust who get people with spinal injury back into work, The Northern Ireland Blind Golf Association, The Wobbly Golfer and Steven Cafferty Team Manager of GB Golf at the Deaflympics in November.
And each venue has been carefully selected, as some of the most progressive and inclusive venues in the UK & Ireland.

“I am so impressed with the amount of people who came to The Shire today [Monday] to see us off at that time in the morning,” said The Golf Trust founder, Cae Menai-Davis.
“Seeing our Paragolfer users on course alongside the people who have supported us and make our work possible is a great reminder of why we’re embarking on this challenge.
“24% of the UK’s population is registered disabled and our work helps empower people with disability to live independent lives.
“Every penny we raise will go towards giving more free access to golf, so please donate.”

On Saturday, the challenge will conclude after 18 holes on the Strathyrum Course in the Home of Golf. It’ll follow a match on the Himalayas Putting Green and a round at Kilspindie.
The Golf Trust, meanwhile, was set up in 2012 to bring people together through golf.
Over the last 13 years, it has brought the benefits of golf to thousands of people and helped to make golf an accessible sport for all.
