It might not be the richest in the professional game but, like the other three majors, the list of perks for winning the PGA Championship seems endless.

Just ask Scottie Scheffler.

From incredible silverware to ridiculous paycheques and a Champion’s Dinner (?!), here are nine things Scheffler gets after picking up his third major at Quail Hollow…

• PGA Championship: When and where to watch on TV

• PGA Championship: Where will it be played next?

The Wanamaker Trophy

This is what it’s all about. Scheffler gets to keep the Wanamaker trophy, one of sport’s largest trophies, for a year and receives a replica etched with his name when the original is returned.

Money… a lot of it

$3.42million in fact. The PGA of America has added an extra $500,000 to the prize pot in 2025.

Lifetime exemption

Scheffler receives a lifetime exemption into the second men’s major of the year.

Major exemptions

A cumulative 15 years’ worth of exemptions into the other three major championships was up for grabs, too. Not that it was a problem for Scheffler.

Tour cards

Chances are, the winner of the PGA Championship won’t need this. However, in the case of a huge shock, this event dishes out a five-year PGA Tour card to the champ, as well as a seven-year DP World Tour card.

World rankings

No fewer than 100 OWGR points head home to Scheffler to assert his advantage even further. It effectively secures that golfer’s place in the top 50 of the rankings for the next 18 months. The same number of points is handed out at each major.

FedEx Cup Points

Slightly more important as it relates to the season-ending Tour Championship in the US. 750 FedEx Cup points, a rather large amount. In fact, it’s 250 more than what’s awarded to the winner of regular Tour events.

Set the table

Just like at the Masters, the PGA Championship hosts an annual champions dinner, a tradition that dates back to 1965. Therefore, Scheffler will be welcomed by some of the greats of the game at that table at the 2026 venue: Aronimink.

Other exemptions

Last, but certainly not least, Scheffler bags a spot in the in the Players Championship for the next five years, as well as The Sentry in Hawaii and the next year’s Signature Events.
