12 years, 13 majors, and a boat load of revealing stories from inside perhaps the most famous player-caddie relationship in the game’s history.
Fourteen years on from the end of his time with Tiger Woods, his former caddie Steve Williams is releasing a book chronicling his epic run with the 15-time major champion.
In “Together We Roared”, co-written by Williams and Golf Digest’s Evin Priest, the looper from New Zealand finally opens up in detail to provide unique insight on his defining years with Tiger.

“I’ve been feeling for a few years that I was sitting on a well of stories I believed golf and sports fans would love to hear,” Williams, 61, told Golf Digest. “As I grew into retirement, and life slowed down, I really began to appreciate what Tiger did for me, what I did for Tiger and how special those 12 years were. Those circumstances will never happen again.”
In the book, Williams shares stories from when he first linked with Woods back in 1999, the magical ‘Tiger Slam’ in 2000/2001 and the subsequent years of unrivalled dominance on the PGA Tour.
The book also covers Williams’ regrets and his public split from Woods in 2011. They did not speak after their relationship abruptly ended, but rekindled their friendship in 2023.
Unprecedented, in fact.
Together We Roared: Alongside Tiger for His Epic Twelve-Year, Thirteen-Majors Run will be available to buy on April 1.
