Tiger Woods has had his say on the persisting rumours that more big names like Jon Rahm could be about to join LIV Golf.
Woods, making his tournament comeback this week after seven months out, followed a “rusty” opening 75 with an improved two-under 70 at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
And while the 15-time major winner is already causing some excitement on the course, there is also plenty of intrigue about what he has to say off it as a new player director on the PGA Tour Policy board.
Earlier this week, Woods expressed frustration over the way the US circuit’s framework deal with the Saudi Public Investment Fund bankrolling LIV has been handled.

Amid growing talk on social media that Rahm could be about to sign for the Saudi-backed series, Woods told a group of reporters that he would be surprised if some top PGA Tour stars decide to make the switch.
“Hypothetically would it surprise me? Yes,” replied, when asked if the mooted deals would surprise him.“But there’s so many different things that have happened in the last 48 hours but also in the last few weeks. Things have changed and will continue to change.”
bunkered.co.uk reported last week that Rahm had entered negotiations over a move to join the LIV enterprise.

And Jordan Spieth, who recently replaced Rory McIlroy on the Policy Board, has conceded that Rahm would be a huge loss, suggesting the world No.3 is weighing up his options over a possible switch.
“Jon Rahm is one of the biggest assets that we have on the PGA Tour,” Spieth said. “So it would be a really – really not very good for us in general because we want to play against the best players in the world and that’s what Jon is.
“I know there’s been some guys that have talked to him. I know he’s maybe weighing some decisions, maybe not. I really don’t know, so I don’t want to insult him and say he’s weighing decisions if he already knows he’s not or he is. You know, that’s somewhat out of my control in a way.”
