Tiger Woods has confirmed that he will make his return from injury in next week’s PNC Championship.
The 15-time major winner will peg it up alongside son Charlie in the popular parent-and-child competition at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
It will be their fifth start in the contest and they will be looking to improve on their best finish of solo second in 2021 and tied fifth place last year.
For Tiger, it will be a first competitive start since he missed the cut at the Open Championship at Royal Troon in July.
The 48-year-old has been sidelined since undergoing microdecompression surgery on his back in September.

“I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” said Woods. “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”
It’s expected that Woods will use a buggy as permitted by the rules of the PNC Championship.
Speaking ahead of last week’s Hero World Challenge – the Bahamas-based tournament that benefits his own foundation – the former world No.1 had indicated that he was not ready to take on the best players in the world just yet.

“I’m not tournament sharp yet,” he said. “I’m still not there.
“These are 20 of the best players in the world, and I’m not sharp enough to compete against them at this level. When I’m ready to compete and play at this level, then I will.”
The Woodses are joined in the PNC field by Padraig Harrington and his son Paddy, as well as the likes of Annika Sorenstam and son Will, Nelly Korda and father Petr, and Trevor Immelman and son Jacob.
All told, the star-studded field has won a combined 69 majors, 40 senior majors, and more than 1000 international titles.
