Several of Scotland’s best golf courses are set to install brand new technology that will capture players teeing off at iconic signature holes.
ReelGOLF, a US-based on-course video system, has partnered with Bridge Castle Golf, an innovator in on-course golf experiences and technology integration.
It will see the revolutionary technology, which instantly provides golfers with PGA-quality video footage of their round, introduced at top venues in the Home of Golf.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer ReelGOLF to the courses here in Scotland,” said Del McEwan, owner of Bridge Castle Golf.
“This partnership means golfers can capture and share the beauty and challenge of our courses while creating those lasting memories and bringing a touch of professional glamor to each round.”

The technology behind ReelGolf is AI-enabled Bosch cameras, which are discreetly set up near tee boxes and greens of signature par-3s.
A player simply scans a QR code to activate the system, and the camera records their shot and adds shot tracing before sending the high-definition video to the player’s phone within minutes.
ReelGOLF has recently finished its tenth installation in the States, and has placed cameras at the renowned Payne’s Valley. Among its other venues are Carter Plantation in Louisiana and Old Corkscrew in Florida.
It is hoped that five Scottish golf courses will have installed the technology by the summer of 2025 and around a dozen in the country by March 2026.
“The cameras will capture backdrops at golf courses, too, and once it’s there it’s a ‘Disney moment’,” McEwan told bunkered.co.uk.
“Once you come off the rollercoaster, you don’t have to apply for it afterwards, the video is incorporated in your green fee as part of the golf experience.
“Some of the big courses want to differentiate themselves and offer a different product to their rivals, so we might end up moving towards an entry level version.
“But at the moment, it’s going to be in the top 5% of UK golf courses.”

The ReelGOLF platform offers additional features, including automated challenges like Closest the Pin and Ring of Fire.
Meanwhile, the technology could be implemented at new golf courses, as well as the existing bucket-list venues that welcome thousands of visitors each year.
“There isn’t a course that doesn’t know who we are,” McEwan added, “but they are all at different stages.
“We’re also in discussions with course designers who are doing new courses coming to Scotland and talking to them about pre-designing ReelGolf systems into the golf course.”
The idea has been backed by former DP World Tour winner Stephen McAllister, who is an ambassador for Bridge Castle Golf.
“Scotland is the birthplace of golf, and introducing ReelGOLF here feels like the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation,” he said.
“Allowing golfers, whether amateurs or professionals, to capture the spirit of the game in stunning video and share it with the world is truly game changing.
“This is the future of golf, a ‘game within the game,’ and it’s happening right here in Scotland.”
