The 2024 PGA Tour season is over – and what a year it has been for Scottie Scheffler.
The world No.1 closed out a simply remarkable campaign with an emphatic victory in the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta.
It was a seventh victory of the year for the American and resulted in him winning the FedEx Cup for the first time in what is fast becoming one of the sport’s most remarkable careers.
It was also a win that earned Scheffler a whopping $25million bonus, pushing his calendar year earnings beyond the $60million mark.
Two-time major champion Collin Morikawa finished second on the standings, banking a cheque for $12.5million, with Sahith Theegala coining in $7.5million after finishing third on the standings.
All told, 30 players split an eye-watering $100million between them as the latest PGA Tour season came to a close in Georgia, amongst them Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre, former FedEx Cup winner Rory McIlroy, England’s latest winner on the US-based circuit Aaron Rai, and two-time major champion Justin Thomas.
