Tributes have been pouring in for legendary Scottish caddie Dave Renwick, who has sadly passed away after a battle with cancer.
As news filtered through this morning on the start of the Dubai Desert Classic, dozens of players took to social media to remember the East Calder man, who was on the bag for five major wins of three different players.

Renwick began caddying on the European Tour in 1983 and hooked up with Jose Maria Olazabal in 1986, working with the Spaniard for eight years before quitting just after his 1994 Masters win.
He then moved on to work for Aussie Steve Elkington, and oversaw his one and only major title at the 1995 US PGA Championship, before joining up with Vijay Singh in 1997 for his two major wins at the 1998 US PGA Championship and 2000 Masters.
After a spell working with Lee Westwood, Renwick went back to work with Singh, helping him reach world No.1 after his incredible run in 2004 which saw him win his third major title at the 2004 US PGA Championship.

After Singh, Renwick was on the bag for the likes of Graeme McDowell, Adam Scott, Thorbjorn Olesen, Graeme Storm and Gareth Maybin and hit the headlines at the 2014 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship while on the bag for Argentine Ricardo Gonzalez for reporting then world No.1 Rory McIlroy for a rules infringement.
The caddie spotted that when McIlroy had taken a drop, he had one foot still standing on that area when he played his next shot. Renwick waited until the end of the round to inform McIlroy, who was subsequently penalised two strokes, adding that he ‘couldn’t have gone to sleep knowing that I hadn’t said anything’.
Renwick finished his time working on the European Tour with Scot Chris Doak before briefly going over to the States to work for K.J. Choi until he was diagnosed with cancer.
And Renwick’s secret to being one of the world’s best caddie? “Just being relaxed – I don’t let too much really bother me out there.”
