The 2025 LIV Golf season gets underway next week and a pair of players from the league have added to their early schedules.

LIV Golf Riyadh is set to get the league back in action under the lights, with LIV Golf Adelaide the only other event in February before a break.

Then it’s over to Hong Kong on March 7, but two LIV stars have opted to remain busy in between.

Ripper GC’s Lucas Herbert and Ben Campbell, a new signing for Range Goats GC, have committed to a prestigious event on the Asian Tour.

The New Zealand Open, founded in 1907, will stage its 104th edition at Millbrook Resort from February 27 – March 2 and both LIV stars are entered in the field.

The tournament, boasting a NZ$2,000,000 prize purse, is contested over 72 holes of stroke play and, over the years, has been won by some huge names.

Michael Campbell, Corey Pavin, Ian Baker-Finch and Peter Thomson are among some of the major champions to have lifted the New Zealand Open trophy.

Herbert, meanwhile, will be looking to top his second-place finish last year and add his name to the honours list.

“I’m absolutely stoked to be returning to Queenstown for the New Zealand Open,” he said.

“It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve played, and since I last played at Millbrook Resort all I keep hearing is how the tournament is growing and getting better and better.

“The courses are challenging, the crowds are great, and the competition is always top-notch. I’m really looking forward to being a part of such a fantastic event and seeing if I can go one better.”

His return adds to a field already containing several top-tier pros who will contest the co-sanctioned Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and Asian Tour event.

Campbell, on the other hand, was arguably New Zealand’s best amateur golfer prior to turning professional and has built a solid record in the tournament.

The 33-year-old finished runner-up in a remarkable play-off in 2017 and again in 2023.

Other notables among the early entrants are last year’s Asian Tour Order of Merit winner John Catlin and ex-LIV star Wade Ormsby.
