The US Open changes venue every year – but where will future editions be played?

The USGA certainly doesn’t hang around telling us when and where future US Opens will be held.

It is typical for the R&A to announce the next three locations for The Open Championship, but beyond that, some golf fans are left playing an educated guessing game.

However, for the US Open, we can already start planning what we’re going to be doing in 2051 – the tournament will be held at Oakland Hills that year.

• US Open: The field as it stands

The USGA uses a rota featuring some of the best and most challenging golf courses for America’s national championship, which has long been recognised as golf’s most uncompromising major.

Pinehurst No.2, which stages the major in 2024, will play host another couple of times across the next decade.

Meanwhile, Oakmont, the famed layout in Pennsylvania which has held the US Open more than any other course, will host the tournament in 2025, 2033, 2042 and 2049.

Here is a full list of the future venues for the US Open venues that have been announced so far…
