Despite looking likely throughout the final day, it wasn’t to be for the LIV golfers at the US Open.
Tyrrell Hatton and Carlos Ortiz were the pair in contention on Sunday, with the Englishman in a share of the lead at one point on +1.
However, the Englishman carded bogey fives on his final two holes to finish four shots adrift of eventual champion JJ Spaun.
Ortiz, meanwhile, also finished in a tie for fourth place on three-over-par for the event.
But it wasn’t such a great week for plenty of the league’s other big names, so here’s how all 14 of them fared at the US Open…

Tyrrell Hatton: T4
Always a threat on tough layouts, Hatton was set to add another big scalp to his CV. But he fell away at the death, albeit recording his best major finish to date.
Carlos Ortiz: T4
The Mexican was a lively outsider at Oakmont, but not one without form. He leads the International Series Order of Merit and, with a T4 effort, showed his quality.
Jon Rahm: T7
What could’ve been for the US Open champion of 2021. Rahm was in prime position after a 69 on Thursday, but barely holed a putt on Friday and Saturday. A Sunday 67 was too little, too late.
Brooks Koepka: T12
Another in firm contention after the opening round, but it wasn’t the Koepka of old from then on in. Still, signs of life in the American after an uncharacteristic period in the ‘big four’.
Patrick Reed: T23
Despite finishing on eight-over-par, Reed found himself just outside the top 20 at the end of the tournament. An albatross on Thursday was his best moment.
Marc Leishman: T38
The Ripper GC man wasn’t out of the equation heading into the final round, but he was nowhere to be seen on the ‘board after a Sunday 77.

Cameron Smith: MC
The Aussie’s strange run in major championships continues. Smith shot 75-73 at Oakmont to miss the cut by one stroke.
Phil Mickelson: MC
It’s likely we’ve seen the last of Phil Mickelson in the US Open, and that means no career grand slam. A pair of 74s sent him home early.
Jinichiro Kozuma: MC
After a spell on the sidelines, Kozuma only returned to LIV Golf action in April. His first major start since and he played just two rounds.
Dustin Johnson: MC
The last US Open winner at Oakmont was confident he’d better his missed cut at the PGA Championship in May, but Johnson had to settle for the same result.
Joaquin Niemann: MC
Conspiracies are doing the rounds as to why the Chilean, a prolific winner on the Saudi-backed circuit can’t take his game into majors. Another missed cut.
Bryson DeChambeau: MC
The shock of the casualties at the halfway stage was the defending champ, DeChambeau. And 1973 winner Johnny Miller was brutal in his assessment of the LIV man.
Jose Ballester: MC
The new LIV recruit was competing in his first major as a professional, having joined the paid ranks in recent weeks. Ballester, however, struggled.
Richard Bland: MC
There was no Blandemonium in Pitsburgh, as the Englishman failed to make the weekend. In fact, he finished worst of the LIV contingent on +18.
