US Open :: round one in pictures

As expected it was an eventful day at yesterday’s US Open. Martin Kaymer stole the show with a round of five-under, while Fran Quinn was the surprise package shooting 68.

Phil Mickelson is nicely placed on even-par with Rory McIlroy one behind him. Stephen Gallacher shot three-over and faces a struggle to make the weekend, with Graeme McDowell the best placed European on two-under.
