Erin Hills is set to host the 80th US Women’s Open, as the second major on the LPGA Tour schedule returns.
The Wisconsin venue will be the 16th different venue to host the championship, while it will be the fifth prestigious USGA event played on the layout. That includes the 2017 US Open, won by LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka.
This week, though, the best in the women’s game will compete for the biggest prize purse available to them. While it hasn’t been officially unveiled, last year’s fund was $12 million, with winner Yuki Saso banking $2.4 million.
As well as a bumper payday, the Harton S. Semple trophy is also up for grabs.
Some huge names have lifted that prize in recent years, including 2023 champion Allisen Corpuz and 2022 champion Minjee Lee.
But there is also a list of high-profile players who won’t compete at Erin Hills this year – none more so than England’s Georgia Hall, who hasn’t missed the event since 2016.
Founded in 1946, it’s the longest-running tournament currently on the LPGA Tour and the stage is set for another thrilling edition.
