One of the most iconic holes on the PGA Tour returns this week as players tee it up at TPC Scottsdale for the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
The par-3 16th hole at the Stadium Course is an event within the tournament and contributes to one of the liveliest atmospheres in golf.
Hal Sutton carded the first ace at the famed Colosseum in 1988, although Sam Ryder remains the most recent player to make a hole-in-one thanks to his effort in 2022.
More eyes will be on the fans this year, however, after the PGA Tour issued a ‘no tolerance’ warning ahead of this year’s contest.
It follows chaos at last year’s event which marred the Waste Management Phoenix Open won by Canadian Nick Taylor in dramatic fashion.
Despite not being a Signature Event, its stature prompts the world’s best players to stop by each year and that is no different for the 2025 edition.

Justin Thomas 14/1
A T12 finish last year made it seven consecutive top 20 efforts at TPC Scottsdale for Thomas and it seems a matter of when, not if, he wins here. The Ryder Cup like crowd plays to his advantage and he’s shot out the blocks in 2025, finishing second at the AMEX.
