WATCH: Giant alligator strolls on US course

Alligators are commonplace on a lot of golf courses in the US state of Florida - but seldom ones quite this big.

Spotted crossing the fairway at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Florida, according to this alligator surprised a group out for an afternoon round with one of the players in the group - 56-year-old Charles Helms - saying there was a stunned silence between the golfers on the scene.

David Matos, the person featuring in the video, told "This alligator was so large he would only move slowly about 100 feet at a time before having to lie down and rest so he probably wasn't in as much danger as it may have appeared. An alligator expert may refute that; I'm just going on what I have been told."

Although the weather's much better Stateside, at least we don't have gators interrupting our rounds over here! Check out the video footage below.
