It’s not like Piers Morgan to have nothing to say for himself – but that’s exactly what happened when the TV personality came a cropper at Carnoustie during the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Morgan, 59, is amongst the many famous faces playing on Scotland’s east coast this week and has fellow Englishman Matthew Jordan for company.
However, he has struggled the first two days of the pro-am, contributing on only a handful of holes to he and Jordan’s team score.
His frustration bubbled over when the duo reached the formidable par-3 16th at Carnoustie Golf Links in today’s second round.

Television cameras were there to capture Morgan topping his tee shot just beyond the ladies’ tee.
He managed – to his credit – not to swear out loud but his frustration was clear for all to see when he completely ignored an on-course reporters attempts to speak to him after it.

This is the second day in a row that Morgan’s misfortune has been captured by the cameras. This happened on the 18th of the Old Course in St Andrews yesterday…

This year marks Morgan’s fifth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
A member of Wimbledon Park Golf Club in London, he reportedly plays off 16.
Speaking to reporters at St Andrews yesterday, he backed beleaguered Tiger Woods to continue playing “as long as he wants”.
“I would pay to watch Tiger Woods until he’s 90,” he told the Scottish Daily Mail. “So if he wants to keep playing golf, let him play.

“‘I remember him being written off last time, and then he won The Masters again. And suddenly all the critics that told him to give up, look very, very stupid.
“I think Tiger is the greatest to ever play the game. Just think peak Tiger, if you watch the videos of him or watched him at the time as I did, and you compare him to any other golfer in history, there’s no comparison, I don’t think.
“Obviously there are other greats, but peak Tiger Woods, he would have killed everyone.”
