This is your annual reminder that tour pros are good. Really, really good.

During the final round of the Epson Tour’s Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic at the weekend, one player (probably) sealed the unofficial ‘shot of the year’ award.

There might not be any pictures on a scorecard, but Laura Wearn deserved one.

The 33-year-old American ultimately finished T32 in the event, won by 2020 Women’s British Open champ Sophia Popov, but she closed out her week in style.

Well, kind of.

Wearn carded double bogey, bogey, double bogey, birdie, double bogey, eagle to wrap up her Sunday showing TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course, in Scottsdale – and, thankfully, we have footage of her final shot.

Ryan French, of the popular X account Monday Q Info, posted a video of Wearn’s three on the par-5 18th, rightly labelling it “absolutely ridiculous”.

After her second shot lingered over the penalty area, the right-handed Wearn was forced to flip over her wedge, switch hands and sink it. As you do.

If you don’t believe us, we don’t blame you. But you can take a look, yourself…

The shot received the credit it deserved, with plenty of Wearn’s fellow pros, among others, reacting on social media.

Tour pro Leslie Cloots wrote on Instagram: “I just threw my phone down and started clapping for you,” while Amelia Garvey added: “This is the best thing I’ve seen all year.”

Dana Fall, who played alongside Wearn, said: “Witness. Absolutely unreal shot. If this didn’t sump up the day idk what will.”

Meanwhile, former Ryder Cup player Oliver Wilson wrote: “That’s how you finish a tournament.”
